Short description

Bali is an Indonesian island in the east of Java. Parts of Bali are covered with mountains and the highest point is an active volcano. Population is recorded with 4,22 million inhabitants. In an area of 5561 km2 the main cities are Denpasar in the south and the administrative center Singaraja on the north coast The climate is tropical healthy maritime. Besides the mountains also savannahs and rain forests cover Bali. Mainly grown are rice on flooded terraces, coconut palmtrees, sugar cane, corn, tobacco, cotton, coffee, fruits, cattle and pigs. Tourist industry is significant for Bali. An international airport is located in Denpasar. The Hindu inhabitants of Bali are popular for their ancient traditions, cultural assets, their talent for dance, music, weaving, painting and carving. Balinese people didn’t accept the Islam which spreaded out from beginning of 15th century starting in Java.

Bali, with its tropical climate, is located south of the equator and the weather is all year round warm and humid. The average temperature is around 32 °C, but at night it can be much cooler. Bali has two seasons: the rainy season and dry season. The rainy season lasts from November until April, and the dry season from May until October. In the rainy season the temperatures stay warm, but there can be heavy rains, but never for a long time. Rarely it can rain all day, but it can be possible.
